In this charming account of paraglider Antoine Girard’s solo flight above Pakistan’s Broad Peak, we witness absolutely exhilarating footage of his record-breaking achievement, as he skillfully overcomes a multitude of challenges. An inspirational film about realizing the greatest heights in our human potential.
In July 2016, the paraglider Antoine Girard sets off for three weeks to explore the Karakorum on a “hike & fly tour”, alone. Leaving the city of Skardu, he heads towards the highest summit of this mountain range. The Frenchman has already failed twice to climb the 8051 metre high Broad Peak, and to fly then down to the valley with his paraglider. This time, he hopes that the updrafts will carry him and his glider up to the summit, and maybe even beyond? However, the air is thin between the eight-thousand meter peaks. Starting and landing in this harsh environment is extremely difficult.
