They belong to one of the rarest ape species and they live exclusively in the border region between Nigeria and Cameroon: the Cross-River-Gorillas. Their way of life is hardly known and until now they have never been filmed in the wild. The keeper Alfred Bama is father and friend in one person for twelve gorilla orphans. In the Limbe Wildlife Centre he takes care of gorillas whose mothers have been killed in order to end up as “bush meat”. This film accompanies Bama on a particular mission: He wants to find the family of his favourite gorilla Nyango, in order to protect them before it is too late.
