Shooting films in the Arctic is one of the most difficult endeavours in nature film production. For 4 months, cameraman Uwe Anders lived among polar bears, polar foxes and walruses. He found himself too close to comfort during a battle between musk oxen, and experienced just how adept arctic foxes are at stealing eggs. However, the late summer arrival of the polar bears was an absolute highlight. The film's breathtaking scenes and revealing interviews illustrate everyday life in the northern corner of the world and enables viewers to experience the work of an animal filmmaker first-hand.
