Looking behind the recent furore surrounding the science of climate change, the Dutch journalist Bernice Notenboom searches out the views of local Sherpa communities and records the concrete physical changes actually occurring in the Khumbu region. The documentary combines a portrait of this fast changing region with the drama of the Bernice’s expedition to the summit of Mount Everest. Due to global warming the instability of the notorious Khumbu Icefall is rising dramatically. Even Bernice Notenboom, expedition leader Walter Laserer and Lhakpa Nuru Sherpa are facing the threat of an avalanche on their way through the icefall.
