30 athletes navigate 850 km through the massive Alpine range, racing against their competitors, physical exhaustion as well as the elements. They negotiate compulsory turning points at Austria’s icy Dachstein glacier, Italy’s Marmolada peak, the fearsome Eiger in Switzerland, Western Europe’s highest mountain Mont Blanc in France and the final stepping stone of Mont Gros before reaching Monaco and plunging into the warm Mediterranean. The Red Bull X-Alps race lasts 14 days, day and night, sun or snow. With their 20-kg flying equipment the athletes have to hike across 3000 m high mountains and fly over turbulent glaciers. Witness pain, drama, natural beauty and a last minute dash for the finish line in Monaco, which keeps fans guessing who will be first to claim the ultimate prize until the very end.
