“Grüß Gott Gams – Felix und die Wildschützen der Berge”

Christian Gramstadt, Christian Weisenborn (Deutschland) - 89 min

Saturday, 15. Nov. 2008 from 14:30 in Steiermarksaal

When the stags are belling and when – later – the chamois wander, nothing can stop them. They put on their masks, and pack their dismountable rifles into their backpack. „Grüß Gott Gams“ portrays three active poachers who are neither interested nor scared by laws and penalties. They follow a kind of addiction which drives them. But also hunters, foresters, mayors, judges and lawyers, detectives, hosts, the wives of the poachers and the ethnological scientist Prof. Girtler from the Poacher Museum in Sankt Pankratz get their say. In total, this is a film about mountains, games, customs, hunting and poaching.

Kamera Alpin in Gold 2008

Are „poachers advocates of the wild animals“, as one of the central characters of this film so convincingly argues? In this wonderful and entertaining film about a provoking topic the director manages to win the trust of both, converted and active poachers, and to entice them into making shrewd and witty statements… And what a brilliant closing sequence!
