Nowadays mountaineering is experiencing increasing specialisation and this makes Christoph Hainz probably one of the last all-rounders fulfilling his dream of real alpinism. Hainz is not only an extraordinary rock climber, he is also very experienced in the other mountaineering disciplines. In his lecture “Magic Mushroom” he presents a few of the adventures of his climbing career. However, he will also talk about one aspect of extreme mountaineering, which is often unmentioned: the compatibility of a risky life with the life of a husband and father.
